Learning
A curriculum vitae detailing a history of my academic studies is included as component of the written application package. This section will be used to showcase personal learnings outside of an academic setting that have influenced how I provide avenues of access, flatten hierarchies, enhance visibility, focus on relationships, and create value. That is, how I adhere to my philosophy of teaching and learning.

Certified Association Executive
In support of my professional growth plan, I enrolled in the Canadian Society of Association Executive's certification program in 2016- Certified Association Executive. Five intensive courses and a final exam are required to become certified. I have completed the following courses:
CAE 100 - Association Leadership, Change, Strategy & Structure
CAE 200 - Association Membership Services
CAE 300 - Association Operations Report
I paused pursuit of this certification when admitted to my doctoral program; I plan to finish the certification in the future.

Fierce
In 2011 I became a certified Fierce Conversations facilitator and this two-day workshop became a mainstay of professional learning offerings to New Brunswick teachers. I have also successfully completed facilitator certification in other Fierce platforms: Fierce Feedback (2014); Fierce Negotiations (2015); and Fierce Generations (2015).
Fierce Conversations includes four conversational models:
- Team Conversation
- Coaching Conversation
- Delegation Conversation
- Confrontation Conversation
The skills and principles I have learned through this work have become so ingrained as to be used daily.
Addressing Conflict Effectively (A.C.E.) Training
Through my work with the NBTA Code of Professional Conduct and problem-solving with members in difficult situations, it became apparent that certification in mediation skills would be a benefit. I have successfully completed Level I certification and the five day course was invaluable and serves as a complement to my Fierce skills.
Course Intention
The cost of conflict can be extremely high. Investing in conflict resolution development provides the tools needed to address human resource challenges such as bullying and harassment. It will also enable your organization to develop, retain, and engage people and increase productivity.
